The Dialogue’s work involves planning, convening, facilitating and reporting on a variety of forums that bring together individuals and groups concerned with water issues to share information and perspectives, to explore differences and commonalities in interests and values, to foster a deeper understanding of the implications of policy choices on others’ interests.

FACILITATING UPDATES OF REGIONAL WATER PLANS
History: In June 2007 the Board set up a new committee to begin development of a new “Template for Updates of Regional Water Plans.” Draft work products from this effort were discussed at the Dialogue’s 14th Annual Statewide Meeting in January 2008. The Template was reviewed and discussed subsequently at the Regional Water Planners’ Workshop in September 2010 (see Recent Events).
Status: In the 2013 legislative session, an appropriation was made to fund state and regional water plan updates. Subsequently, the Interstate Stream Commission has approved a water planning work plan that aims to complete updating of the 2003 State Water Plan, update the Regional Water Planning Handbook (which includes the “Template”), and develop criteria for assisting “up to three regions” with funding to update their RWPs. The Dialogue Board has indicated our desire to help to make it relevant to current needs. The most recent version (Nov. 2008) is available by clicking on the link below.
